V1 notes
Bean is useful now, but still learning its manners.
This page lists the planner limitations worth knowing about before you treat a generated bed plan as gospel. The goal is a practical plan that is easy to follow, not a perfect answer from a finished product.
Current quirks
What to keep in mind
- 01
Crop data is still being reviewed
The planner depends heavily on sowing windows, plant-out windows, spacing, maturity and harvest duration. Some crops may still need date or growth-window corrections.
- 02
Empty space can be deliberate
Bean may leave a lane clear when planting something now would block a stronger crop later. The page should explain these choices more clearly over time.
- 03
Fillers are opportunistic
Quick crops and winter fillers are used after selected crops have had a fair chance. They are not meant to override the crops you explicitly asked for.
- 04
Plans are generated, not editable
For v1, you can change your inputs and regenerate. Direct row edits, exclusions and manual overrides are planned, but not part of the first release.
